Mads Daugaard
Dr. Mads Daugaard is assistant Professor at University of British Columbia and head of the molecular pathology & cell-imaging laboratory at the Vancouver Prostate Centre since 2013. Daugaard obtained his PhD degree in 2007 from University of Copenhagen. He did his first postdoc at the Danish Cancer Society Research Centre in Copenhagen with Prof. Marja Jaattela and his second postdoc at the BC Cancer Research Centre with Prof. Poul Sorensen. Daugaard has made significant contributions to the cancer research field, focused on discovery, characterization, and translation of tumor targets. In addition to numerous scientific publications, Daugaard has authored several patents and is co-founder of 3 biotech companies (VAR2 Pharmaceuticals, OncoMal, and VarCT Diagnostics) where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
